Caring for & lighting your Roselyta Candle & Wax Melts

Proper 'candle care' is key to getting the most out of your candle. It is crucial for two main reasons: it extends the life of your candles and provides safety.

WAX

The first time you burn your candle, the burn time is a key factor in its longevity. A good rule of thumb is to let your candle burn for about one hour for each inch of its diameter. it's very important to keep it lit until the whole surface is liquid wax, and ideally for around 4 hours. As wax has a 'memory', it means that each time you light your candle after this the wax won't ‘tunnel’ i.e leave wax around the edges/burn unevenly. We recommend that after the first burn you should try to keep your candle lit for a minimum of 1.5 to 2 hours and never more than 4.

Light your candle in a well ventilated area, but where draughts and wind won’t disturb the flame. This will keep your flame nice and stable, allowing it to burn correctly and minimise any smoking.

WICK

By keeping your wick trimmed to about 5mm each time you light your candle, you can provide a clean, even burn. A handy tool for this is a wick trimmer, which can reach into deep candle jars and give a clean cut every time. If your wick ‘mushrooms' once cooled nip the top off. This helps control the size of the flame so as not to burn too fast.

When you candle is cool replace the lid to prevent any debris or dust on the surface.

Extinguishing your candle

To be safe, we recommend you use a snuffer to extinguish your candle -- blowing it out can cause some of the wick to drop into the wax and slightly damage the wick.

Safety should always be a priority when burning candles. Always keep burning candles within sight and away from flammable objects. Be sure to keep your candles out of reach of children and pets.

And remember, never move a burning candle or try to extinguish it with water. Instead, use a candle snuffer to put out the flame safely without splashing hot wax.

Proper storage can significantly extend your candles life. You should store candles in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and harsh indoor lighting. Extreme heat can cause candles to melt or lose their scent.

Not forgetting...

Please do not leave your candles unattended, and place away from drafts, children and pets. Candles should always be placed on a heat-resistant base and set on a level stable surface.

If soot forms on the inside of the jar, extinguish candle, wait for it to cool, then wipe with a damp cloth.

We advise not to handle your candle when lit or just after, however if it needs to be moved at this time, ensure that you hold the base of the container where it will be cooler.

WAX - MELT CARE

Roselyta wax melts create a cozy fragrant atmosphere. Please follow these Wax Melt Safety Tips for a perfect experience.

  • Never leave a wax warmer unattended while it's in use. Always extinguish the warmer or turn it off before leaving the room.
  • Keep wax melts and wax warmers out of reach of children and pets.
  • Place the wax warmer on a stable and heat-resistant surface before turning it on. Keep it away from flammable objects to prevent accidents.
  • Do not eat wax melts.
  • Store your wax melts in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. This will preserve their quality, colour and scent.
  • Use a candle snuffer instead of blowing out the flame, as blowing may cause hot wax to splatter or turn off wax warmers. Keep the wax warmer away from hanging edges and avoid placing it near water sources.

Wax Warmer Burning Instructions

To ensure an enjoyable and safe wax melting experience, follow these Wax Warmer Burning Instructions:

  • Place your wax melts in a wax warmer or burner specifically designed for melting wax. Do not add water to the wax.
  • Place your wax melt into the wax warmer's dish or tray, ensuring it doesn't overflow.
  • Avoid leaving the wax warmer on for extended periods. It is recommended to use it for a maximum of 3-4 hours at a time.
  • You can reuse your wax melt until the scent has faded. Once the scent has dissipated, remove the wax residue and replace it with a new wax melt.
  • To remove solidified wax from the warmer, briefly turn on the warmer for less than a minute until the bottom surface of the wax softens. This will make it easier to pull out the wax.
  • Allow the wax warmer to cool down before handling or adding more wax melts.
